Welcome!

Mallanganee Public School is located in a scenic valley of the Richmond Range, 36 kilometres west of the service centre of Casino, NSW.  It is a small school of 20-50 enrolments ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6. The school is surrounded by a beautiful natural environment including subtropical dry rainforests,  Richmond Range National Park,  Cherry Tree State Forest, creeks, timber/paper pulp plantations and farming land.  It forms part of the drainage or catchment basin of the Clarence River.  Unfortunately, because we create waste, we also have a garbage dump or landfill in Mallanganee.

Our school is keen to reduce the rubbish we create by adopting the policy of "Learning more, wasting less" ( RMIT 1994) and learning the three R's.  To these we also added another three R's we think are important too! The total 6 R's are:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Respect, Rethink, Refuse,

Rubbish dumps or Landfills are the place where most of our waste ends up and can create health and environmental problems if not managed carefully. We value our environment and we don't want any more of it to look like…... …...this!

Think about the garbage you throw out each day.

Using the 6 R's can you think how to reduce the amount of garbage that goes in your bin?
