Dun
Dun
The Dun Dun is a double or single headed bass drum used in varying
forms throughout Africa. Our Dun Duns are made from Camphor Laurel with a
skin of heavy goat or cow depending on the size and sound of the drum. The
ropes used are "Kevlar Insert" for strength and durability. The
drum is played with sticks, wool covered beaters and the hand.

Talking
Drum
A popular drum throughout West Africa, are also known as Dun
Dun. In Ghana and Nigeria they are the Dondo. The drum, is held under the
arm and struck with a curved stick, simultaneously squeezing the ropes to
change the pitch.
These drums are used to send/relay messages individually, or within a
rhythm.

Bodhran
The Bodhran is a frame drum made of layered veneer with a goat
skin head. A Tipper or Bot usually made of wood or the hand is used to
create an enormous variety of sounds. Bodhrans have a long tradition in
Ireland but this style of drum is used by people traditionally worldwide.

Medicine
Drum
Medicine Drums are traditionally used by Native Americans in
ceremony, for healing, meditation and enjoyment and can be useful for
everyone for the same reasons. Everyone has their own rythym which can be
used personally or for the benefit of others. This shell is made of
layered veneer with the skins made from deer, goat or kangaroo. Kangaroo
is preferred by Heywood Big Day and his Family and members of the Crow
Tribe of Montana USA.
