Original designs replicated Heritage awnings hand crafted by a master craftsman in a long established sheet metal workshop in Kyogle. The manufacture of these heritage awnings grew from a need for replacement of existing awnings that were a popular feature on cottages in the area. Replacement soon became replication and today Col Garred fashions heritage awnings, custom made in various shapes, sizes and styles. These heritage awnings are ideal and suit a large and varied range of homes including "Queenslanders". Col works with a range of materials including traditional corrugated iron, Colorbond, Zincalume, Zincaneal, copper and Stainless Steel. All that is needed for replication is a photograph or sketch and measurements (always allow for weather proofing lap). An existing piece, even if in poor condition can be used as a template or you can supply your own design. Be sure to measure properly to the outside of the windows.
