Kyogle skate park opening:
On Saturday 21st July 2001 the skate park was
officially opened. The day was a huge success. A great DJ kept everyone
happy and two local bands impressed us with their talent.
The park was opened by Shire Mayor Ross Brown, with a traditional welcome
from local aboriginal elder Patsy Nagus and words of encouragement from
Local Member Thomas George and a representative from Dept Sport &
Recreation, Paul Hernage.
After the opening was an excellent demonstration by some Aussie champion
skaters. Thanks go to Julian Simpson, Andrew Currie, Trent Bonham, Johnny
Kabru and Marlon.
The demonstration was followed by competitions judged by the pro's where
the local boys got to show off some of their tricks.
