Jason started playing bowls at age 15 whilst still at High
School and was inspired into the game by watching Australian
representative player Rob Parella on Television. Since
commencing his bowling career in 1991, Jason has taken out numerous
Championships and Pennant's both here in Kyogle and Lismore. In 1998,
Jason was choose for the Northern Rivers District Bowls Association
(NRDBA) side and has represented this side off and on since then, either
as lead or second in a team of team of four. In 1999, Jason played lead
for NRDBA side which was undefeated in the Tri-Series against Sunshine
Coast, Brisbane North and Gold Coast / Tweed Districts.
Jason joined the NSW Deaf Bowls Association in 2001. He played third for
the North Coast / West side against five other districts in the "Frew
Shield" and finished runners-up to defending champions Sth. District.
Jason when on to play in the "Tony Gorringe" Shield - State Deaf
Singles Championships at Ashfield, Sydney. Undefeated in three sectional
rounds and the semi-finals, Jason went on to win the title in the final
31-12, beating State and National representatives along the way. |
